South Africa were a class above the New Zealand cricketers again last night, winning the second one day international in Napier with more than 10 overs and six wickets to spare to seal the 3-match series.
The Black Caps seemed to be on course for a total of around 300 at 162 for 2, but they lost three quick wickets and crumbled to be all out for 230. Fast bowler Morne Morkel took a career-best 5 for 38.
The Proteas opening batsman Hashim Amla then steered his side to victory with a match high 92 runs.
The final match is at Eden Park in Auckland on Saturday before the three-test series begins in Dunedin on March 7.
