Police are treating a fire at a boarding house in Auckland as suspicious.
Sixteen residents of the property on New North Road in Kingsland were forced to leave their rooms when fire broke out shortly after 11pm on Wednesday.
They were left with only the clothes they were wearing and police say it is too soon to know if they can salvage any other possessions.
