Veteran broadcaster Graeme Thomson has died.
Mr Thomson, who was 70, had worked in both radio and television - most recently as an announcer for Radio New Zealand Concert.
Hewitt Humphrey, of Radio New Zealand was a long time colleague of Mr Thomson. He remembers the unique style of broadcasting that endeared him to viewers and listeners.
"Graeme was one of the nicest men you could ever know. This really came through in his style of broadcasting - he was a broadcaster who always strove for the highest standards, but he was also very much a gentle man in the best sense of the word, and that, I think, you can always hear in his broadcasting."
Mr Thomson was best known for his work for the Sunday morning television programme, Praise Be, which he hosted for 20 years.
The producer of Praise Be, Ron Pledger, says Mr Thomson was a pleasure to work with and greatly loved by his audience.
"Graeme was an absolute consummate professional in everything he did, (with) very high morals. He wrote his own scripts and researched well. He was just loved by all the viewers who watched Praise Be."
Praise Be plans to broadcast a tribute to Mr Thomson next Sunday.
