Four injured after police pursuit of stolen car

Several people have been taken to hospital after a police car chase in Christchurch

Ambulance staff say four people have moderate to serious injuries following the crash about 7.30pm on Friday.

A stolen car was pursued, but police say the chase was called off after it crossed the centre line.

It then hit another car and one of the two vehicles crashed into a building on the corner of Tuam and Durham streets.

Police are investigating the scene.

The incident happened close to another one six weeks ago, when a police pursuit led to a car narrowly missing a pedestrian and smashing through an office window in Durham Street.
