2:02 pm on 16 December 2008

A Waikato worker has suffered a broken arm and dislocated shoulder after an earth bank collapsed on him.

The man was working for a local contracting company fitting an underpass for cattle under Ngahinapouri Rd on Tuesday morning.

Police say he was trapped from about the chest down and co-workers had to dig him out out by hand.

Occupational Safety and Health Inspectors are investigating the incident.
