Labour pamphlets distributed at Govt regional job summits

7:04 pm on 20 March 2009

Social Development Minister Paula Bennett is threatening to ban Labour MPs from regional job summits after Labour Party pamphlets were handed-out at one in Dunedin.

She says she asked officials to invite local MPs from all parties to attend job summits in their areas.

But Ms Bennett says she was disappointed to hear that Labour MP Clare Curran was involved in distributing pamphlets at the Dunedin venue.

She says Labour MPs will not be welcome if it happens again.

Labour leader Phil Goff says the pamphlet promotes retrofitting home insulation. He says it is exactly the sort of proposal that should be debated at such a summit.
