Convicted killer in altercation outside court

7:44 pm on 20 March 2009

Convicted killer Bailey Junior Kurariki had an altercation with reporters after appearing in court again charged with breaching his conditions of release.

Kurariki was 12 when he took part in the killing of an Auckland pizza worker Michael Choy in 2001.

He was released from jail in 2008, recalled for breaching his bail conditions after suspected drug use, and again released.

Kurariki was arrested earlier in March on three charges of breaching his release conditions.

He has pleaded guilty to two of the charges, and has been remanded on bail until a defended hearing in May.

Outside the Manukau District Court on Friday, Kurariki spat at reporter, made obscene gestures and had an altercation with cameramen and a photographer as they tried to film him.
