Soccer authorities in New Zealand have slashed ticket prices for a crucial World Cup qualifier in a bid to draw a full house in Wellington, despite the economic downturn.

If the All Whites win a two-leg playoff they will qualify for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.

New Zealand will meet either Bahrain or Saudi Arabia in the playoff.

The first match is on 10 October in the Gulf with the second match to be played at Wellington's Westpac Stadium on 14 November.

New Zealand Football says the most expensive adult tickets would be $39.
