The Fire Service says a pilot has escaped unharmed after crashing a light plane into a paddock in Opaheke, south of Auckland.
Eyewitnesses say the pilot ejected and fell safely to the ground in a parachute.
Firefighters were on their way late Saturday afternoon to the downed plane.
