Police in Nelson have charged three men over a fatal crash during a race.
Aaron Chalmers-Hill, 21, was killed in June when he lost control of his car and crashed while overtaking another vehicle at Upper Moutere.
Police have charged the driver of a second car with manslaughter and dangerous driving causing injury. He is also aged 21.
The driver of a third vehicle faces charges including operating a vehicle in a race and attempting to pervert the course of justice. He is aged 22.
A passenger in this vehicle is charged with being a party to operating a vehicle in a race and attempting to pervert the course of justice. He is aged 18.
Police say the two leading vehicles were travelling well over the speed limit.
