A man in his late 20s has drowned at a beach in the Far North.
The police say emergency services responded to a person in difficulty at Tapuaetahi Beach, north of Kerikeri, early on Saturday afternoon.
When they arrived the man had been under water for some time. CPR was administered but he did not respond.
The police say it appears that the man may have been suffering from a medical condition and fell into the water.
