Rescue workers have pulled out more bodies from a small mountain village buried under mud in the northern Philippines, as the death toll from landslides and floods triggered by heavy rains rose to 153.
Relief officials estimate total damage at nearly $58 million.
Emergency teams, including troops, have begun clearing major roads in at least 16 northern provinces on the main Luzon island as the skies cleared and floods began to recede.
But Baguio City, in the vegetable-growing mountain province of Benguet 250km north of the capital, remains totally cut off by boulders and soil loosened by rains brought by Typhoon Parma.
