No decison on gay priests at Maori Anglican hui

9:31 pm on 30 October 2009

Maori Anglicans gathered in Auckland for their biannual runanganui were not able to reach a decision on Friday whether being gay should be a barrier to ordination.

Te Pihopatanga o Aotearoa's Commission on Human Sexuality was to report back on whether Maori consider same-sex orientation a barrier to ordination.

Te Waipounamu Bishop John Gray told Waatea News it's important Maori develop their own views on the issue, which has divided the church.
