An Auckland-based company linked to a collapsed private education provider in Australia says it is business as usual for its New Zealand operations.
Global Campus Management Group, which ran four tertiary colleges in Sydney and Melbourne with about 3000 students, is in the hands of administrators.
The company owns New Zealand-based Crown Institute of Studies, which runs four travel, tourism, business and hospitality training colleges in Auckland.
New Zealand group general manager for GCM, Barry Radford, says there is no Australian involvement in the running of those colleges.
Mr Radford says the local colleges are profitable and negotiations are taking place for a buyout of the New Zealand operations.
"The New Zealand operation is a totally different model. We, of course, have both international and domestic students. These businesses are very long-standing and they're very well known schools that have great following and reputations."
The New Zealand operation has enhanced its international student numbers, making it even more robust, he says.
