Glen Campbell concert tickets to be refunded

Updated at 12:00pm on 24 November 2009

The promoter of Glen Campbell's cancelled tour is to refund tickets to the Rotorua concert abandoned by the country singer.

The American singer famous for hits such as Rhinestone Cowboy and By The Time I Get To Phoenix was on a three-date tour and had performed in Auckland on Friday.

Campbell lost his voice during his first song on Saturday night and a subsequent show in Wellington was cancelled.

Promoter Andrew McManus says Campbell had been feeling fine after the Auckland concert. He says the singer apologises and hopes to return to New Zealand in future.

Refunds for the Rotorua concert are available until 7 December.

Ticketek says it will fully refund tickets for the Wellington show at their point of purchase from Monday.
