Eight crews fight Lake Rotorua scrub fire

Firefighters battled strong winds on Thursday before containing a scrub fire near Lake Rotorua.
A pine plantation on Humurana Road caught fire just before 2pm.
About eight crews and a helicopter with a monsoon bucket were called in.
Humurana Road, which runs around the top of the lake, was reduced to one lane. The police have advised motorists to expect delays or try to avoid the area altogether.
