The man behind Te Araroa, the walkway running the length of New Zealand, is asking Prime Minister John Key for more money to complete the project.
Mr Key opened one of Te Araroa's longest sections, the Mt Pirongia summit boardwalk, in western Waikato on Friday afternoon.
With 2700km of the walkway completed and just 250 more to do, walkway founder Geoff Chapple says he'll be asking the Prime Minister for more money to finish it.
Mr Chapple says $15 million has been spent on the project so far and another $5 million is needed.
