'Eye for an eye' sentence on pair

Updated at 9:50am on 23 December 2009

Two men in Pakistan have been sentenced to have their noses and ears cut off after they did the same to a woman who refused to marry one of them.

The BBC reports the two brothers were found guilty of kidnapping Fazeelat Bibi, 20, one of their cousins, in September.

A judge in Lahore also sentenced them to life in prison.

Sentence was passed on Monday under an Islamic law. In the past, similar sentences have been revoked on appeal.

Three other suspects are still sought by police.
