Milk product being withdrawn

4:42 pm on 24 December 2009

A soy milk product being recalled in Australia is being voluntarily withdrawn in New Zealand by its sole importer.

The Food Safety Authority says the importer of Bonsoy soy milk is contacting any cafes using the product to tell them to stop using it.

The agency says the importer supplies cafes only, making a consumer recall unnecessary here.

In Australia, the Food Standards Authority is advising people not to drink the milk after samples were found to have unusually high levels of iodine.
