An officer has been charged with disorderly behaviour and an Independent Police Conduct Authority investigation has begun following the incident in South Auckland.
Police say they are investigating an incident involving two off-duty officers at the weekend.
One officer was arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour and is on bail. The second officer has not been charged.
Police will not confirm the exact nature or circumstances of the incident.
The officer is expected to appear in Papakura District Court next week.
