Police in Nelson are asking the owners of vacant properties to check for signs of a man missing for more than two weeks.
Leo Lipp-Neighbours, 19, was last seen early on 24 January when he left his flat in an orange Toyota Corolla station wagon.
Family and friends and police have searched the upper South Island for signs of him or his distinctive car.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Langridge is now asking people to check garages or farm sheds and says all reported sightings will be followed up.
