A woman has appeared in the Christchurch District Court charged with disposing of the body of a baby boy.
The body of the infant, whom police say was born mid-way through last year, was found at a boarding house in the suburb of Waltham on Wednesday morning.
The boy's unemployed mother, 27, is charged with concealing the body between July and August last year to conceal the birth.
The woman was granted interim name suppression and will reappear on 5 March.
