Royal NZ Air Force personnel remembered

4:59 pm on 28 March 2010

Royal New Zealand Air Force pilots who lost their lives during service were remembered in services around the country on Sunday.

In Wellington, about 100 people turned up at St Paul's Cathedral to pay tribute to them, as well as to those who have served in the RNZAF.

Squadrons paraded with the Queen's Colour and the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan Commemorative Pennant at the start and end of the service.

Deputy Chief of the Air Force, Air Commodore Gavin Howse, says the day is also to remember an explosive's expert and a Red Checker's pilot who died recently.

He says similar services were held in Whenuapai, Ohakea and Woodbourne on Sunday.
