Batch of asthma inhalers recalled

9:09 pm on 30 March 2010

A company that produces inhalers for asthma treatment is recalling a batch thought to be faulty.

Mylan New Zealand says Respigen with the batch number 9F282A may not be delivering a high enough dose in some instances.

Managing director Lloyd Price says the company is taking a precautionary stance, in conjunction with Medsafe, by recalling the batch but the number of people affected will be low.

Mr Price says about 200 of about 100,000 inhalers produced will need to be recalled.
