Police National Headquarters says one of two officers accused of leaking information is being dealt with through an internal disciplinary process.
The two policemen from the Howick station in Counties Manukau were stood down last year pending an investigation into whether they accessed the national database inappropriately.
Police headquarters spokesperson Jon Neilson says the second officer is still under investigation.
Criminal charges against the men have been ruled out.
Mr Neilson says no further details about the nature of the disciplinary action will be revealed as it is an employment matter.
