The Australian labour market has surprised analysts again, with unemployment falling to 5.2% in May.

Almost 27,000 jobs were created last month.

This was more than economists were expecting, with the median forecast at 20,000 jobs and unemployment to remain at 5.4%.

The Australian dollar jumped half a cent against the US dollar following the news.
