NZ and Australian markets up

The benchmark NZX50 index rose 7 points, or 0.2%, to close at 3012 on low turnover of $22 million.

Fletcher Building was down 4 cents to $7.71, Telecom rose 3c to $1.95, Contact Energy was down 1c to $5.82.

Sky City Entertainment was up 2c to $2.91, and Sky Network Television increased 4c to $4.76.

The Warehouse was up 1c to $3.44.

NZ Refinery rose 5c to $3.15.

Restaurant Brands was up 4c to $2.37.

NZ Farming Systems Uruguay rose 4c to 44c.

OceanaGold shot up 35c to $4.20 after it announced that its exploration programme at the Frasers underground mine in Otago found more gold deposits.

Allied Farmers dropped 0.1c to 3.4c.

Across the Tasman, the Australian 200 index is currently up 8 points, or 0.1%, to 4404.

In currency markets, the NZ dollar is at 70.91 US, 81.08 Australian, 47.18 pence, 63.09 yen, point 5622 euro, and the Trade Weighted Index stands at 67.47.
