The head of Britain's domestic security service at the time of the Iraq war says she did not see Saddam Hussein as a substantial threat.
Giving evidence to an official inquiry into Britain's role in the conflict, Baroness Eliza Manningham-Buller said she had advised officials a year before the war that the threat posed by Iraq to Britain was "very limited".
She said Britain's involvement in the invasion of Iraq has radicalised a generation of young Muslims who saw it as an attack on Islam.
A year after the invasion, she said MI5 was "swamped" by leads about terrorist threats to Britain.
Baroness Manningham-Buller was head of the domestic intelligence service between 2002 and 2007.
