A gang member hunted by police since last week has been arrested.
Colin Kiriona, who has a distinctive bulldog tattoo on the left side of his face, was described by police as armed and extremely dangerous.
Mr Kiriona was the subject of an extensive search by armed police throughout Waikato, King Country and Whanganui.
The 25-year-old is wanted for a series of alleged violent domestic assaults against his estranged partner in Waikato over recent weeks.
Detectives and the armed offenders squad arrested him at a rural property outside Marton in the Rangiteki district at 1.30pm on Wednesday.
A 19-year-old woman found there is also being interviewed by police to see if she assisted Mr Kiriona while he was on the run.
Mr Kiriona will appear in court on Thursday on a variety of charges.
Police say the arrest was the result of good teamwork in various police districts and with help from the public.
