The Japanese city of Nagasaki is commemorating the 65th anniversary of its devastation by an atomic bomb dropped by the United States during the World War II.
The US - which sent a delegation to the annual commemoration of the bombing of Hiroshima on Friday - did not attend.
A choir of survivors of the attack performed a song as the ceremony began called Never Again and at 11.02am a bell tolled to mark the moment the bomb fell on Nagasaki. The crowds stood in silence.
Among the survivors and the families of the dead were the representatives of more than 30 countries.
The mayor of Nagasaki called for the elimination of nuclear weapons.
