Nga Hapu o Ngaruahine Iwi Incorporated chairperson Daisy Noble says the site visits will be used to explain the importance of those areas to iwi and how they can work together with the Crown on maintaining them.

She says these visits will be followed up by a hui this weekend to inform iwi members where iwi authorities are at with the Treaty settlement claims process and any feedback people wish to make.

On Wednesday OTS senior officials and DoC staff will be visiting the Te Atiawa rohe, followed by Taranaki Tuturu iwi on Sunday.
