Maori Television steps in to screen Super Rugby final

6:32 am on 1 August 2012

Maori Television has stepped in to screen this weekend's Super Rugby final free-to-air - so Olympics coverage can continue uninterrupted on Prime Television.

The station has come to an agreement with Sky TV, which owns Prime Television.

Maori Television will screen delayed coverage of Saturday night's Super 15 final between the Chiefs and the Sharks, which starts at 9pm.

It will also screen uninterrupted delayed coverage of two NRL matches over the next two weekends - Warriors versus Cronulla and Warriors versus North Queensland.

Live coverage will continue as usual on Sky Sport.

Maori Television chief executive Jim Mather says he is pleased the station can screen the three games so rugby and league fans do not miss out.
