Te Wananga o Raukawa in Otaki has improved its performance and is now getting more students to finish their courses.

The institution has struggled with course completion rates, with official data showing the figure was just 43%.

But the Tertiary Education Commission now says 58% of courses are now successfully finished.

The latest performance reports also shows more students are obtaining qualifications and move up to a higher level of study.

However, there has been a slight drop in the number of students re-enrolling after a year of study, down from 61% to 58%.

Te Wananga o Raukawa has previously acknowledged its poor course completion rate.

Tumuaki (chief executive) Mereana Selby says staff are undergoing additional training.
