Te Arawa leader Toby Curtis says the future of its people rests in the hands of its women - because they outnumber the success of Te Arawa men in professional positions.
He says there could be a focus on how to promote Te Arawa women - because they're one of its most prized assets - the future for Te Arawa.
Mr Curtis says Te Arawa women appear to far out number men in a number of professions including, law, medicine as well as in self-employment.
He says a proposed tribal super structure wouldn't promote individual women - but would look to ensure Te Arawa appoint the right people, be it a man or a woman, to talk about matters such as health.
