Several Maori organisations have joined forces to promote Maori business exports and tourism.

Led by New Zealand Maori Tourism, they have signed a memorandum of understanding.

The Maori Trustee, the business consultancy service Poutama, and the Federation of Maori Authorities are co-operating in an attempt to boost visitor numbers and exports.

Maori Tourism executive Butch Bradley says they want to promote their businesses together.

He says all of the organisations have carved out some great trading relationships with China and other countries, and he says tourism needs to be part of the picture.
