A team dedicated to providing a database of leading ancestral marae is counting down to the national launch of its website.
Te Potiki National Trust has spent the past four years visiting pa throughout the country.
The final set of details and photographs of about 700 marae is now being added to a website called maorimaps.com.
Trust chairperson Paora Tapsell of Otago University says there's some fine-tuning to be done before the site is finished and the launch will be in the middle of the year.
Until that time, he says they've got their heads down and are working hard to ensure all their information is accurate.
