Waikato-Tainui has launched its own Facebook page to keep in touch with tribal members.
The page starts up on Wednesday and is one of several initiatives by the tribal authority to better inform members of the latest news and developments within the iwi.
Waikato-Tainui chief executive Parekawhia McLean says Ko Waikato Te Awa, Ko Waikato Te Iwi will improve communications with members.
She says it will work in tandem with the tribal website and its magazine Te Hookioi.
Ms McLean says the tribal authority recognises the importance of communicating regularly and effectively with its members.
