Finalists named in Maori farming competition

A finalist in this year's Ahuwhenua Trophy BNZ Maori Excellence in Farming Award competition says it is privileged to be part of a competition tht has helped grow Maori success in farming.

The finalists are Upoko B2 near Taumarunui, Tarawera Station northwest of Napier, and Te Hape Station west of Mount Pureora in the northern King Country.

From this month public field days are being held at each property before the supreme winner is announced in June.

This year's competition targets excellence in sheep and beef farming.

Traci Houpapa, the chairperson of Te Uranga B2 Incorporation which owns Upoko B2, says it's privileged to be named a finalist in a competition.
