The man standing for the Maori Party in the Ikaroa-Rawhiti by-election believes his competitors have a lot of catching up to do to gain the peoples' trust.
Na Raihania is one of seven hopefuls vying for the seat, which was left vacant by the death of Labour MP Parekura Horomia.

It's the second time the prison officer has stood for the seat, after coming second to the late Mr Horomia in 2011.
Mr Raihania says unfortunately the other candidates have got a lot to do to earn the trust of the people, something he has been doing for the past three or four years.
He's confident the people of the electorate are already aware of who he is and what he stands for.
Na Raihania says he will focus on continuing to spread his message and meet with as many people as possible before Saturday.
