Labour's candidate for the Ikaroa-Rawhiti by-election is happy the campaign has brought the suffering of the electorate to the nation's attention.

Ngati Kahungunu Runanga chief executive Meka Whaitiri will be on the streets in Hawke's Bay on Friday in a final campaign push before ballots close on Saturday.

She said mobilising people to get out and vote will be a challenge, but the campaign team will be on the ground encouraging whanau.

Ms Whaitiri said she's pleased to have brought attention to the problems the electorate faces, such as a lack of jobs and poor housing.

Meka Whaitiri said she's feeling positive and will make the most of her last day of campaigning.
