Voters in the Northland Maori electorate of Te Tai Tokerau are disillusioned with the National Government's policies heading into the 2014 general election, a poll shows.

The Te Karere DigiPoll survey of 500 people - on the Maori roll in the seat held by MP Hone Harawira - shows 74% do not think the Government is heading in the right direction, while half say their whanau is worse off under it.

Enthusiasm for voting in next year's general election is high, with 83% saying they are "highly likely" to take part.

The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.3%.
