Representatives of the Auckland iwi Ngāti Tamaoho have signed a treaty settlement at Mangatangi Marae, near Pukekohe.

The terms of the deed include redress of more than $10 million, land transfers, more than $500,000 as a cultural revitalisation fund, and an official apology from the government.
The iwi will also be able to purchase specified Crown property.
The Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations, Chris Finlayson, said settlements were special occasions.
"It's always a special day because it reflects the particular circumstances of the negotiation.
"And in terms of how the future goes they're keeping a pretty close eye on whether the crown lives up to its various promises - which will be my responsibility now."
He said the Crown could never fully compensate Ngāti Tamaoho for the wrongs of the past, but he hoped the settlement would lay a strong foundation for the iwi's future.
