The Dunedin City Council has met on Otakou marae for only the second time in its history.
The full council first met at the marae located near the end of Otago peninsula in 2003.
The meeting on Monday discussed a draft management plan for Taiaroa Head, which is known to the local Ngai Tahu hapu as Pukekura.
The hui also talked about a possible new body to be set up to provide consultation between all the region's four runanga and other councils in the region.
