Te Aute Trust Board in Hawke's Bay has launched a new vision for Te Aute College and Hukarere Girls' College.
The Vision 2035 programme is aimed at providing students with a plan to guide their growth and development through their years at school and onto university.
Sir Mason Durie from Massey University is one of several leading Maori appointed to the board last year to address financial and governance issues at both schools.
He says the programme looks to students making a valuable contribution to Maori development in the future, and a knowledge of agricultural science and economics will be important - they're both areas, he says, in which students at both colleges could lead the way.
