Iwi Chairs Forum to meet in Kaikoura

7:18 am on 2 December 2011

Whanau Ora, freshwater and the sale of shares in state-owned assets will be on the agenda when the Iwi Chairs Forum meets in Kaikoura early next week.

The group represents more than 400,000 Maori people from iwi such as Waikato-Tainui, Ngai Tahu, Te Arawa and Whanganui.

The forum last met at Hopuhopu in the Waikato region about three months ago.

There, 50 iwi agreed to plan setting up a pan-tribal share-buying consortium in anticipation of state-owned asset sales.
