The MetService long range forecast for all New Zealand to midnight Tuesday.
A ridge over the South Island spreads over the North Island today. Late Sundaya shallow trough approaches northern New Zealand, and moves east across the far north on Monday, while a cold front moves onto the South Island. The front weakens as it moves over central New Zealand on Tuesday, followed by another ridge.
Northland Auckland Coromandel Peninsula
Today and tomorrow, sunny weather. On Sunday, fine at first, becoming cloudy later with rain developing in the afternoon or evening. On Monday, morning showers clearing and sunny spells developing. On Tuesday, long sunny spells.
Waikato Waitomo Bay Of Plenty Rotorua Taumarunui Taupo Taranaki
Today and tomorrow, fine weather with morning frosts inland, but in Taranaki tomorrow evening, a few showers. On Sunday, isolated showers about the west coast at first, otherwise fine, with morning frosts inland. On Monday, a few early showers in Bay of Plenty, otherwise mainly fine. On Tuesday, fine apart from isolated showers about the west coast.
Wanganui Manawatu Taihape Horowhenua Kapiti Coast
Sunny today. Tomorrow, sunny at first, with possible frosts, then showers from late morning. On Sunday, fine spells, but isolated showers. On Monday, mainly fine. On Tuesday, cloudy periods and isolated showers.
Gisborne Hawkes Bay Wairarapa including the Tararua District Wellington
Today, showers clearing Wellington and inland Wairarapa this afternoon and elsewhere this evening. Fine tomorrow, with morning frosts. From Sunday through to Tuesday, mostly sunny, morning frosts in sheltered places.
Nelson Marlborough Canterbury
From today through to Monday, mostly sunny weather, with morning frosts. On Tuesday, in Canterbury, cloudy periods with one or two showers possible.Cloudy periods in Marlborough and fine in Nelson.
Buller Westland Fiordland
Sunny today. Tomorrow, a few showers, turning to rain with some heavy falls in Fiordland from evening. On Sunday and Monday, in Fiordland, rain with heavy falls. In Westland, periods of rain. And in Buller, a few showers, turning to rain later Monday. On Tuesday, occasional showers gradually clearing.
Sunny today. Tomorrow, high cloud increasing and a few spots of rain developing later. On Sunday, a few spots of rain, but fine spells increasing.On Monday, rain developing in Southland, high cloud elsewhere with showers developing later. On Tuesday, a few early showers, then fine spells.
