The MetService long range forecast for all New Zealand to midnight Tuesday.
A ridge of high pressure covers much of New Zealand today and tomorrow. A front moves onto the south of the South Island overnight Sunday and becomes slow moving. On Tuesday, a strong northerly flow spreads over the country ahead of a trough over the Tasman Sea.

Today and tomorrow, fine in Northland, apart from isolated showers. Elsewhere, patchy rain today. Mostly cloudy tomorrow, with a few showers, possibly heavy in the afternoon and evening. On Sunday, sunny spells, with one or two showers in the east of Northland. Mostly sunny on Monday. And on Tuesday, fine with high cloud.

Today and tomorrow, fine in Gisborne. Elsewhere, cloud gradually clearing this afternoon and becoming fine, but areas of fog tomorrow morning. On Sunday and Monday, mostly sunny. On Tuesday, fine with high cloud.
