The United Nations human rights commissioner is making her first visit to Zimbabwe this week.

Navi Pallay has been invited for five days by the government and is due to arrive on Sunday.

The BBC reports the former South African High Court judge is due to meet President Robert Mugabe, but is also scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and human rights groups.

Manfred Nowak, a former UN rights investigator, was expelled from Zimbabwe in 2009.
