A bomb blew up a bus in Pakistan near the north-western city of Peshawar on Friday, killing at least 18 people and wounding 34 others.

Police say the bus was carrying government employees to the nearby town of Charsadda.

Peshawar is the capital of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

The BBC reports explosives were remotely detonated as the bus passed another vehicle near a police station on Friday. The explosion hit the back of the bus.

Another bomb killed at least 15 people in the city of Quetta on Thursday.
