Looting leads to food shutdown

Oxfam says people in the Democratic Republic of Congo are so fed up with the looting of their food by armed men that they have stopped trying to produce a surplus to sell.

The agency quotes farmers as saying there is no point growing extra food because it will be stolen.

Oxfam says a large part of eastern Congo is almost completely lawless.
