A typhoon has hit Hong Kong, battering the city with gale-force winds and torrential rain, and injuring an estimated 50 people.
More than 200 trees fell and pieces of buildings were seen crashing into downtown streets as commuters made their way home from work Monday night.
The Hong Kong stock exchange delayed the opening of trading on Tuesday until authorities gave the all-clear that it was safe to go to work.
The typhoon warning has now been downgraded to 8, from the most severe level of 10 overnight Monday.
